SONNEMAN - A Way of Light is seeking a 3D Visualization Artist with experience in producing photo-realistic product, lifestyle and other 3D renderings. If you are a 3D Visualization Artist and have experience with visually stunning lighting aesthetics, then we are looking for you! 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with design and graphics teams to produce highly realistic lifestyle renderings for Sonneman fixtures for print and web
  • Modeling, texturing and rendering 3D environments
  • Managing 3d assets and texture libraries 
  • Compositing 3D environments with product renderings
  • Solve technical issues that arise 

 

Requirements:

  • Expertise in 3ds Max, vray and KeyShot.
  • Skills in 2D motion graphics a plus
  • 5+ years of lighting/lifestyle experience. Background in Architecture a plus. 
  • Understanding of photometric lighting and multi-pass rendering
  • Ability to scratch build 3D environments
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both artists and management within a small team
  • Work samples must show excellent lighting and architectural sensibility 
  • Knowledge of color theory and strong sense of contrast, light and shadow
  • Ability to follow and implement design reference and Art Direction, and an ability to work within a wide range of styles

SONNEMAN – A Way of Light is seeking an experienced Art Director to help guide, develop, and implement all visual aspects of the company’s print, web, and digital media campaigns.

The Art Director will work in collaboration with and help direct a team of creatives under the guidance of the Creative Director, to define and implement catalogs, advertisements, and digital communication tools.

A large percentage of the role will be to create lifestyle and product imagery to both enhance and advance the existing visual brand of the company.

This person will work on several projects simultaneously and must be able to keep up with the fast and demanding pace of projects.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Conceptualize, direct and support the development or acquisition of web, print, and visualization designers
  • Expert knowledge of modern interior design and architecture and minimalism principles.
  • A discerning eye for typography, layout, photo editing/cropping/retouching, branding and other design aesthetics
  • A strong portfolio exhibiting your exceptional design aesthetic, mastery of typography, and overall creativity.
  • Ability to define project scopes, deadlines, and resources.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.
  • Combine creativity and inspiration with analytical problem solving skills
  • Ability to present articulately and confidently
  • Ability to take both initiative and direction as necessary
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficient with 3D design applications, a plus
  • Ensure that all finished work is executed flawlessly, meeting all creative, communication and production requirements across the board
  • Maintain an ongoing awareness of current design trends and best practices, as well as a commitment to your own personal growth and development

SONNEMAN - A Way of Light, the leader in the design and manufacturing of sophisticated contemporary lighting, is seeking a Product Development Engineer to join our growing team. Works with Design and Engineering teams to facilitate product development activities from first design concepts to production. Product Development Engineer will possess strong communication and management skills, and ability to work in a high pressure and dynamic environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Engineering development and design for manufacturing of new product concepts
  • Maintenance and updating of existing product specifications
     

Duties May Include:

  • Interfacing with the Design Department to understand product requirements
  • Engineering design/development of new products, including material/process selection and mechanical, thermal, electrical, and optical design
  • Generating 3D CAD drawings in SOLIDWORKS for manufacturing vendor
  • Clearly documenting and communicating design and engineering details for manufacturing vendors
  • Detailed review of 3D CAD drawings received from manufacturing vendor, checking for accuracy, consistency, and completeness
  • Mechanical review and inspection of prototypes and first-article samples, possibly including on-site reviews with manufacturing vendors in China
  • Generating product specifications and supporting documentation, including datasheets and assembly instructions

 

Minimum Requirements Include:

  • 3 years of product design/development engineering experience, preferably in the decorative or architectural lighting fields.
  • Strong working knowledge of engineering materials and low- to high-volume production manufacturing processes.
  • Highly skilled in SOLIDWORKS solid modeling.
  • Basic shop and mechanical prototyping skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Architecture, or related engineering field.
  • US citizen or permanent resident (no VISA sponsorship available).

Sonneman is seeking a Freelance Project Manager for a long-term project.  The Project Manager will be managing projects end-to-end and will be involved in non-IT focused initiatives. The individual will be working with teams from Marketing, Product Design, 3D Visualization and Production Departments. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Work with business teams to establish sprint priorities.
  • Involved with setting up recurring design planning meetings with team.
  • Run daily catalog meetings with the goal to resolve roadblocks and/or escalate as needed.
  • Manage continuous flow of work.
  • Anticipate issues and act proactively to address these and other roadblocks.
  • Report progress on projects to Sr. Leadership team on weekly basis.
  • Work with Product Management team for lining up project releases.

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of Project management experience.
  • Preferred experience in managing a catalog.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and trend analysis reporting skills.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, planning, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Manage changing priorities and meet tight timelines. Can work under pressure, manage competing priorities and work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Great communicator who keeps all stakeholders updated with progress on projects, issues and updates.
